Streaming service Okko has announced the end of filming for the science-fiction drama Vegetation, based on the novel by Alexey Ivanov.
Set in the near future, the Urals have become an uncanny forested zone, full of dangers and secrets. People extract a precious fuel from it, while hunters risk their lives to harvest rare trees that underpin technological progress and the fortunes of entire states. Official crews and illicit groups clash in a struggle for control and profit. At the heart of the conflict are twin brothers whose expedition dramatically shifts the balance within the forest.
The cast includes Alexey Serebryakov, Denis Kosikov, Ksenia Treister, Alexey Rozin and others. All eight episodes were directed by Maksim Sveshnikov (Playlist of a Volunteer). A precise release date on Okko will be announced later.
