Principal photography has started in Moscow on the blockbuster “Veselchak U,” the press office of Central Partnership announced. Alexander Petrov returns to the title role.
The project will serve as a spinoff of the sci‑fi saga “A Hundred Years Ahead.” According to the plot, the space pirate Veselchak U becomes stranded on present‑day Earth after a confrontation with Alisa Selyozneva. His hunt for the cosmion artifact leads him to a boy named Yura and his mother, Katya. When the powerful space warrior Theo begins hunting them, Veselchak and his companions are swept into a thrilling adventure.
The film also features Anastasia Talyzina, Nikita Efremov, Yuliya Peresild and Alyona Mikhailova. The director’s chair is held by Alexander Andryushchenko, the creator of “A Hundred Years.”
“Veselchak U” is slated for release on April 15, 2027. The “A Hundred Years…” films, adapted from the works of Kir Bulychov, were released in 2024 and earned 1.5 billion rubles at the box office.
