Filming Begins on Tom Ford’s New Movie

Principal photography has officially commenced in Rome for Cry to Heaven, the third feature film from acclaimed director and fashion visionary Tom Ford. According to reports from Italian media outlets, the historical drama is now in active production.

The project boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast, featuring Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Adele, Colin Firth, and George MacKay. Joining them are high-profile talents including Ciarán Hinds, Thandiwe Newton, Hunter Schafer, Paul Bettany, Mark Strong, and Owen Cooper.

The screenplay is based on the celebrated novel of the same name by Anne Rice, the author famous for Interview with the Vampire. Set against the atmospheric backdrop of 18th-century Venice, the narrative explores the haunting lives and artistry of castrati singers.

While a definitive release date for Cry to Heaven has yet to be finalized, Focus Features and Universal Pictures are set to manage its global distribution. This marks Ford’s return to cinema following his previous directorial successes, the poignant drama A Single Man and the psychological thriller Nocturnal Animals.
