Foreign Tongues, the 25th studio album from The Rolling Stones, has officially claimed the top spot in this week’s new music poll.

Following a reader survey conducted on Billboard, fans overwhelmingly chose the legendary rock icons’ latest project as their favorite new release of the week. By the time the poll concluded on Sunday, The Stones secured a decisive 42% of the total vote.

The album outperformed stiff competition from several contemporary heavyweights, including YEONJUN, Beyoncé, and Feid.

Foreign Tongues serves as a monumental addition to the band’s catalog, featuring 14 tracks. The tracklist includes 12 original compositions alongside two distinct covers: an interpretation of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” and a rendition of Chuck Berry’s “Beautiful Delilah.”

To bring this record to life, the band reunited with Hackney Diamonds producer Andrew Watt at West London’s Metropolis Studios. The sessions were bolstered by an impressive array of guest appearances, including contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Notably, the track “Hit Me in the Head” features drumming by the late Charlie Watts, sourced from one of his final studio recordings before his passing in 2021.

Reflecting on the recording process, Mick Jagger noted, “We spent a few intense weeks crafting Foreign Tongues. We had 14 exceptional tracks and moved with great momentum. I really appreciated the intimate studio environment—you could truly feel the energy and passion from everyone involved.”

Ronnie Wood echoed these sentiments, describing the studio atmosphere as remarkably collaborative. “The vibe was electric,” Wood shared. “The entire band was in top form, and more often than not, we managed to nail our best takes on the very first try.”

Behind The Rolling Stones, YEONJUN’s No Labels: Part 02 took second place with 36% of the vote, followed by Beyoncé’s “Morning Dew (Donk)” and Feid’s A Xon De Que, rounding out the leaderboard.
