JISOO and Zayn Malik’s new single, “Eyes Closed,” has been voted the week’s favorite in Billboard’s fan poll.
Readers cast their ballots in a poll published Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, selecting the duet as the standout new release.
The track arrived during a busy release week that also featured new music from Khalid; Gorillaz with Trueno and Proof; Alemeda and Doechii; HAIM and Bon Iver; and others.
Pairing a former One Direction frontman with one-quarter of BLACKPINK, “Eyes Closed” melds two instantly recognizable voices into a soulful, intimate ballad.
On the track, JISOO opens with, “Time is standing still and I don’t wanna leave your lips / Tracing my body with your fingertips,” to which Malik replies, “I know what you’re feeling and I know you wanna say it / I do too but we gotta be patient.”
Through the chorus they reflect on hesitation and history — “’Cause someone like me / And someone like you / Really shouldn’t work, yeah, the history is proof” — before resolving to surrender to the feeling: “Oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed / Better if we keep it where we don’t know…”
Trailing behind “Eyes Closed” in the poll were Khalid’s After the Sun Goes Down; Gorillaz featuring Trueno and Proof with “The Manifesto”; Alemeda and Doechii’s “Beat a B!tch Up”; HAIM and Bon Iver’s “Tie You Down”; and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s “Part of Me.”
