Valve’s game is now available in a brand-new format.

An enthusiast known as slqntdevs recently brought Portal 2 back into the spotlight by creating a browser-based version of Valve’s iconic puzzle game. Players can now run the game across various devices without needing to download installation files or use additional launchers. Slqntdevs used the Emscripten compiler to build the project.

YouTube content creator Swazzy tested the browser version of Portal 2:

The gameplay remains completely unchanged as classic Portal 2. Players return to the Aperture Science laboratories and face GLaDOS once again. They must solve diverse puzzles using the portal gun. Single-player mode is available alongside options to experiment with game settings.

A developer known as Fifty-Fourth also noted that slqnt previously released similar browser versions for titles such as Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. The enthusiast’s next project will be a browser version of the popular sandbox game Garry’s Mod.
