After a transformative two-year journey in Early Access, the survival action RPG Enshrouded is finally set for its full 1.0 release. Players can look forward to the official launch on PC and PlayStation 5 this October 15.
While the initial rollout is focused on PC and PS5, an Xbox Series X/S version is currently in development and slated for a Spring 2027 arrival. In Enshrouded, players step into the shoes of the Flameborn—the last line of defense against a malevolent, creeping fog that threatens to consume the realm. Whether playing solo or collaborating with up to seven friends in co-op, players must scavenge for resources, construct elaborate settlements to house NPCs, forge powerful gear, and brave dangerous dungeons.
“Our team has worked with incredible dedication to bring the 1.0 version of Enshrouded to PC, PlayStation 5, and the Pro console, as well as Xbox Series X|S,” explained Jan Jöckel, CEO of Keen Games. “Because our game features complex, large-scale voxel architecture, fully terraformable environments, and high-performance multiplayer, we want to ensure the Xbox experience meets our stringent quality standards. We’ve opted for a bit more time to refine the Xbox port, which we expect to release in the spring of 2027. We can’t wait to share more details about the 1.0 launch later this summer.”
Throughout its Early Access tenure, Enshrouded has evolved significantly through eight major updates, introducing three new biomes, a host of fresh weaponry, armor, dynamic weather systems, and expanded building materials. Keen Games has reaffirmed that the transition to version 1.0 is merely the beginning, promising long-term support and a steady stream of new content for years to come.
