Eddie Murphy to Star in Drama from ‘Mad Men’ Creator
Eddie Murphy is set to make his television acting debut, taking on the lead role in a new drama series titled The Chairman. The show is being developed by Matthew Weiner, the creative force behind the critically acclaimed series Mad Men.
The Chairman will be available to stream on Peacock. Specific plot details remain under wraps. The production is being handled by 101 Studios, the team behind hits such as Yellowstone and Mob Land.
While Murphy has previously served as a producer on two television projects—the animated series The PJs and the sitcom The Royal Family—this drama marks his first time appearing as an actor in a scripted TV series.
In the summer of 2027, Murphy is also slated to reprise his iconic voice role as Donkey in the upcoming Shrek 5.
