EA Sports FC 26 developers begin fixing gameplay, AI players and PC gamepad support — pre-release update out

The developers have addressed several issues.

The full launch of EA Sports FC 26 is scheduled for September 26; for now, only Premium Edition owners have access. The team has released update 1.0.2, which includes a number of gameplay improvements and other fixes.

Some of the changes include:

• Improved attacking AI — for example, wingers now make runs into the penalty area more frequently;
• Teammates have a better understanding of the offside line.
• Fixed instances where players failed to move into open space when it would have been advantageous.
• Player positioning has been refined when defending with a shallow line so they don’t push too far up the pitch.
• Inverted/full-backs (wide defenders) now transition into defensive roles more intelligently to better preserve the team’s shape.
• The goalkeeper jump indicator now shows where the shot originated.
• Fixed cases where ground passes unexpectedly ran past the intended recipient.
• Resolved issues with logging into Ultimate Team.
• (PC) Changing display settings in borderless mode should no longer cause performance drops.
• (PC) Fixed several instances where controllers failed to register input.
