EA has forecast gross sales of 5 to 6 million for Anthem earlier than the top of the fiscal 12 months.
CEO Andrew Wilson instructed traders that the demo left gamers “realizing it is a game that’s unlike any other game they’ve ever played,” whereas CFO Blake Jorgensen stated that the writer has forecast gross sales of the game to succeed in 5 to 6 million by the top of the fiscal 12 months, on March 31 (by way of GamesIndustry.biz).
“We think there is a great opportunity not just this year for [Anthem], but that should sell well for a long period of time as we add more content through the live service plan,” Wilson added.
Anthem’s demo ran over two weekends, with a VIP session for gamers who had pre-ordered being the primary to roll out. Unfortunately, it was plagued with points and EA promised that the second session would run more smoothly.
The remaining weekend closed out with a live event called The Storm, which spawned Ancient Ash Titans in Freeplay.
Just yesterday, Bioware introduced that Anthem players racked up 40 million hours of playtime over both demo weekends.
EA launched one other title this week that appears to be going over effectively. Apex Legends is a free-to-play, battle royale, squad-based shooter that hit a milestone of 2.5 million players within 24 hours of its release.
Anthem is out February 22 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
