Dynamic Pricing for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PlayStation Store
As early as November of last year, PlayStation owners began identifying curious price discrepancies within the digital storefront. Despite sharing identical regions, currencies, and hardware, costs for certain titles varied significantly between individual users. The determining factor appeared to be account activity: those with fewer previous purchases were often presented with lower prices than more frequent buyers.

What originated as a localized trial has since expanded into a widespread dynamic pricing initiative. Sony has now deployed this system across more than 70 regions, including major markets in the United States and Europe. Approximately 200 video games are currently involved in the program, featuring high-profile titles from Rockstar Games.
Under this dynamic model, the price for Grand Theft Auto V can fluctuate between 25% and 32.5% below the standard retail rate. Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 has seen targeted reductions of up to 10%.
