Dune: Awakening developers will remove mandatory weekly logins
The developers of Dune: Awakening have deployed a change on the test server that should please many fans — it lets players step away from the game temporarily without risking their items.
What’s changed: the patch dramatically increases the bank vault’s capacity and the maximum carry weight for stored items. Where the vault once held 25 items, it can now accommodate up to 500, and the weight cap has risen from 1,500 to 30,000. That’s welcome news for anyone exhausted by weekly base maintenance.
Previously, players had to log in frequently to refuel generators and cover upkeep costs. If they didn’t, bases would slowly degrade under sandstorms and defensive shields would fail. The vault was so limited that only the most essential gear could be kept, often forcing players to effectively start over after a break.
With the new system, most items can remain in the vault, allowing players to log off without losing progress. The base itself still won’t be preserved, but returning to Dune: Awakening will be significantly less painful.
This change is currently on the test server but is expected to be included in the October patch. The exact numbers might be tweaked, although such adjustments are rarely reversed. It may also represent an early step toward future server merges, giving players more options to store items off-base.
