Domingo Rejoins SNL as Sabrina Carpenter Parodies Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” — Watch
“Domingo” Returns in SNL Cold Open — Sabrina Carpenter Joins the Musical Skit

Domingo is back. In the Oct. 18, 2025 cold open of Saturday Night Live, Marcello Hernandez reprised his recurring Domingo character in a six-minute musical sketch opposite host and musical guest Sabrina Carpenter.
The sketch—credited on-air as the “Domingo Cold Open”—centers on Chloe Fineman’s Kelsey, who stages an elaborate birthday surprise for her husband Matthew (Andrew Dismukes). Kelsey’s girlfriends assemble to perform a pop-inflected, tongue-in-cheek number about a trip to Nashville where she supposedly bought Matthew’s gift.
What begins as a celebratory routine quickly dissolves into chaos when the ensemble—featuring Sabrina Carpenter, Sarah Sherman, Ashley Padilla and Veronika Slowikowska—launches into parodies of Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” ultimately exposing that Kelsey spent the night with Domingo during that Nashville getaway.
Hernandez’s Domingo makes a dramatic return to profess his feelings to Kelsey, performing to Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” the track that spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier in the summer of 2025.
The Domingo character first appeared in an Oct. 2024 episode hosted by Ariana Grande, where Carpenter’s “Espresso” was used in a sketch revealing Kelsey’s infidelity. Domingo later reappeared in a follow-up sketch featuring Charli XCX parodying Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!,” and again during SNL50 in a sequence that spoofed “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.
Across Saturday’s show, Carpenter took part in several sketches and delivered two live performances from her Man’s Best Friend album: “Manchild” and “Nobody’s Son.”
Saturday Night Live will pause briefly and return on November 1, 2025 with host Miles Teller and musical guest Brandi Carlile. Additional upcoming episodes include Nikki Glaser with Sombr on November 8, 2025, and Glen Powell—making his hosting debut—on November 15, 2025, with Olivia Dean as the musical guest.
