Doja Cat appeared as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live’s season 51 opener on October 4, delivering two distinct performances drawn from her fifth studio album, Vie.

Sharing the episode with host Bad Bunny, the 29-year-old artist showcased tracks from the recently released record, demonstrating both high-voltage pop flair and quieter, theatrical restraint.

Immediately after a short introduction from Bad Bunny, she launched into an electrifying rendition of the Jack Antonoff–produced track “Aaahh Men!” Sporting vivid yellow curls and a bold stage look — a navy bodysuit layered with a black-and-red lace bra and leopard-print stockings — Doja energized the audience against an ’80s-inspired neon set and a black-and-white checkered floor.

Later in the episode she returned for a more intimate performance of “Gorgeous,” seated on a sparkling rose-shaped throne. Wearing a floral red dress and a long-haired wig, she delivered the moody number with a full backing band as rose petals drifted down across the stage.

Vie, released on September 26, 2025, is a 15-track collection that features a guest appearance from SZA and includes the lead single “Jealous Type,” which Doja performed at the 2025 VMAs alongside saxophonist Kenny G. She’s described the album as leaning more toward pop than her 2023 rap-driven record Scarlet, with a focus on themes of love, intimacy and desire.

Following the album’s release, Doja Cat is set to launch the Ma Vie World Tour.

Looking ahead on SNL’s fall slate: Amy Poehler is scheduled to host the October 11 episode with first-time musical guest Role Model, and Sabrina Carpenter is lined up to both host and perform on October 18.
