Devolver Digital Declares War on Rockstar and Will Release a Game on the Same Day as GTA 6
While most studios try to avoid releasing their games near GTA 6, publisher Devolver Digital has taken the opposite route. The company plans to unveil its enigmatic project on the very day Rockstar’s new title arrives.
The publisher first revealed this plan back in March. Later, when Rockstar moved GTA 6’s release to May 26, 2026, Devolver promptly announced it would shift its own launch to the same date. And when another delay was revealed, the publisher again followed suit.
“You won’t get away from us. Let it be November 19, 2026,” Devolver wrote on social media. Whether this is a sincere decision or an elaborate prank remains uncertain. Details about the game itself are still non-existent.
Despite the obviously tongue-in-cheek tone, the post quickly gained traction. Users joke they’re willing to buy the mysterious game simply to back the publisher in its “showdown with GTA 6.”
