After a triumphant global box-office run, the feature film “Demon Slayer” is poised to tackle a new frontier.
Earlier reports suggested the movie might open in China, but there was no official confirmation at the time. The emergence of an official Weibo account for “Infinite Fortress” only intensified the speculation — and those rumors have now been verified. “Demon Slayer: Infinite Fortress” will arrive in Chinese cinemas on November 14, 2025, clearing the path for the film to pursue new records.
To date, the film has grossed approximately $670 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing anime film in history. With its theatrical run continuing through the end of 2025, the picture still has ample opportunity to scale even greater heights.
If it performs strongly in China, the film could surpass this year’s other blockbusters — “Minecraft: The Movie” ($957 million) and “Jurassic World: Rebirth” ($868 million) — solidifying its status as one of 2025’s major box-office phenomena.
