After Demi Lovato made a surprise appearance at a recent Jonas Brothers concert for a nostalgic Camp Rock duet, Joe Jonas returned the favor this Monday (April 13) by joining his former co-star on stage at her own headlining show.
The energy at the Kia Center in Orlando was electric as Lovato kicked off her It’s Not That Deep tour. The pop star sent the audience into a frenzy during her rendition of the Camp Rock anthem “This Is Me.” Midway through the song, she paused to drop the bombshell announcement: “Ladies and gentlemen, Joe Jonas!”
Stepping into the spotlight, Jonas effortlessly reclaimed his role as Shane Gray to harmonize with Lovato’s Mitchie Torres, transporting fans back to the 2008 Disney era that catapulted both artists to stardom. The pair also treated the crowd to a heartfelt performance of “On the Line,” a track from Lovato’s debut album, Don’t Forget, which originally featured all three Jonas brothers.
The reunion spilled over onto social media as well. The duo shared playful TikToks backstage, with one video showing the pair lip-syncing to a viral clip of Kim Kardashian asking, “We’re back! Did you miss us?” In another lighthearted exchange, Jonas praised the singer for being “talented, smart, and kind,” prompting a humble and equally complimentary response from Lovato.
Lovato’s latest tour follows the successful October release of her album It’s Not That Deep, which secured a top-ten spot on the Billboard 200. Her setlist masterfully blended new material with fan-favorite hits like “Heart Attack” and “Cool for the Summer.”
This onstage chemistry serves as the perfect prelude to the highly anticipated Camp Rock 3, a project Lovato is currently co-producing alongside the Jonas Brothers.
