Enemies respond to nearby threats

NPCs react to bullets that narrowly miss them, kills nearby and footsteps. They can work out where a grenade was thrown from. Enemies under fire also stop trying to reach cover when Colt is too close.

Julianna’s Nexus link no longer makes NPCs stop attacking Colt. The update fixes near-invulnerability after an interrupted aerial assassination and prevents Charlie Montague from getting stuck in the ground when kicked during Shift. Other fixes address enemy routes, positioning and reactions.

Changes to Julianna invasions

If Colt disconnects, the player controlling Julianna receives a win. The AI version of Julianna responds more readily to Colt’s actions. Hacking the escape antenna takes a little longer.

Inactive players are marked. Colt is also marked if he stays in the tunnels too long, and the tunnel doors open. Online matchmaking gives players a higher chance of invading someone on their friends list.

Strelak Sapper Charges thrown by NPCs attacked by Julianna no longer create false markers for Colt. The charges can stick to Julianna, and melee encounters play the opposing player’s audio reactions correctly.

Controls and interface

The patch adds controller button remapping and left and right stick inversion. On PS5, it adds field-of-view and motion-blur settings. The options menu has larger buttons, text and selectable areas.

Bethesda also updated the audio mix and fixed interface and movement issues. The official patch notes list the full changes.
