Death Stranding Isolations Animated Series Teaser Trailer Key Art

During Kojima Productions’ milestone 10th Anniversary Exhibition, “Beyond the Strand,” a captivating new teaser trailer debuted for Death Stranding Isolations. Originally announced last year, this upcoming animated series is slated to premiere exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu next year.

Crafted as an original narrative within the broader Death Stranding universe, Isolations takes place immediately following the monumental events of the first game. Acclaimed Japanese animation powerhouse E&H Production—known for their stellar work on Ninja Kamui, Bullet/Bullet, and Magic Knight Rayearth—is bringing the project to life under the direction of Takayuki Sano, with visionary game creator Hideo Kojima attached as executive producer.

The newly released promotional footage outlines a haunting official synopsis:

“My mom became a crater.”

The Death Stranding—a cataclysmic chain of explosions triggered when the deceased bled into our realm and collided with the living.

In the aftermath of this disaster, survival demanded absolute isolation. Among the survivors was a young girl. Though her solitude was initially imposed upon her by circumstance, she gradually grew to embrace her seclusion, deliberately turning away from any chance at genuine human connection while drifting passively on the currents of fate.

Legendary game director Hideo Kojima once redefined interactive storytelling with his bleak, mesmerizing vision of a fractured world. Now, that universe expands into uncharted territory through an ambitious animated adaptation.

Guided by director Takayuki Sano, the renowned artists at E&H Production have translated this haunting aesthetic into breathtaking, hand-drawn animation.

Set in North America shortly after Sam reconnects the continent via the Chiral Network, the story explores the unpredictable ramifications of a society reborn from the ashes. As the fractured nation stitches itself back together, unforeseen consequences emerge from the renewed bonds.

Amidst this volatile frontier, alternative journeys unfold far away from the paths chosen by Sam and his allies at Bridges: an enigmatic elder who bridges communities through inexplicable means; a weary soldier trapped in an endless loop of warfare; a furious youth raging against a cruel reality; and, naturally, the young girl who sought to shut out the world entirely. Destiny, however, has other designs, thrusting her headfirst into an unfamiliar and overwhelming reality.

Death Stranding Isolations is scheduled to debut on Disney+ and Hulu in 2027. This project stands as just one pillar of a broader multimedia expansion, joining the animated feature tentatively titled Death Stranding: Mosquito and an upcoming live-action cinematic adaptation spearheaded by A24 and directed by the mastermind behind A Quiet Place: Day One.
