David Hayter isn’t cool with how Evo 2019 used his voice for the Tekken Solid Snake joke

Evo organisers acquired into somewhat little bit of hassle with David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake.

In case you missed it, Evo 2019 organisers determined to do a little bit of a joke following the Tekken finals. The stage ran a Codec dialog displaying Snake chatting with Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada.

Not solely that, it used current voice over Hayter had recorded for a fan. This got everyone thinking Solid Snake is coming to Tekken 7 as a visitor character, earlier than the official Evo Twitter account apologised, clarifying that this was merely an elaborate joke, not a reveal of Snake in Tekken.

Unfortunately, not everybody took it flippantly.

“You also failed to consult me, or Konami,” Hayter replied to the apology on Twitter. “Please do not use my voice to promote other games. Ever.”

The legendary actor later added that he’s “happy to record private cameos for anyone. But it is not okay to use my voice for the promotion of other properties.”
