Danny Boyle Doesn’t Know When “28 Years Later” Will Be Released
Danny Boyle has officially confirmed that the third installment of the iconic horror franchise, *28 Years Later*, is moving forward. The director shared the update during the Zurich Film Festival while promoting his latest project, *Ink*.
According to Boyle, the script is already complete, penned by his longtime collaborator and franchise creator, Alex Garland. While the director could not provide a specific production timeline, he reassured fans that the third chapter of the *28 Years Later* trilogy is definitely in the works, though the final title remains subject to change.
A significant highlight of the announcement is the expanded role of Cillian Murphy. Boyle revealed that the actor will have a substantial presence in the third film, marking a much more prominent return than his brief cameo in the first installment of this new trilogy.
Despite these developments, definitive dates for filming and the theatrical release have yet to be established. Boyle emphasized that he currently has no clear timeframe for when the project will officially enter production.
