San Diego Comic-Con 2026 concluded this past weekend, once again cementing its status as a premier celebration of pop culture. Enthusiasts of cinema, television, and video games converged to experience a diverse array of attractions. Among the notable figures in attendance was Michal Sinnott, the voice and performance artist behind Tracey in GTA 5, who was making her debut convention appearance.

The star-studded guest list also featured industry veterans Dan Houser and Lazlow. Having formerly spearheaded creative direction at Rockstar Games, the duo now anchors their newly established enterprise, Absurd Ventures. During a brief interview at the event, they shared insights on several prominent topics:

  • When broached with the inevitable inquiry regarding GTA 6, both creators appeared momentarily caught off guard. Houser noted that he has not been closely tracking the project’s progress, while Lazlow emphasized that their collective energy is currently channeled into the ambitious open-world IPs under development at Absurd Ventures.
  • The pair expressed a balanced perspective on physical versus digital media, asserting that both formats hold distinct value. Digital platforms offer seamless patch deployments and undeniable convenience for travelers, whereas physical editions deliver a tangible sense of ownership—whether slotting a disc into a console or turning the glossy pages of a graphic novel. Houser further remarked that if consumer demand for physical releases persists, the industry should heed those voices.
  • Reflecting on RDR 2, the creators acknowledged that nearly eight years post-launch, the community has thoroughly unearthed every hidden secret the vast frontier has to offer.
  • Discussing personal favorites in comic literature, Dan Houser highlighted Asterix—a series widely celebrated across Europe, albeit less mainstream in the United States—while Lazlow favored the groundbreaking titles published by Vertigo.
  • Looking ahead to their own publishing endeavors, American Caper is set to deliver an expansive 44-page finale this November. Issue #12 will debut with three distinct cover variants to wrap up the inaugural season. Looking further forward, the creators intend to transition the narrative backdrop from a conservative “red state” (Wyoming) to a liberal “blue state,” a thematic shift expected to profoundly influence future storytelling.
