Dan Hauser Expanding His Company

Absurd Ventures Company, led by former Rockstar Games Vice President and head writer of its video games Dan Houser, is opening a second studio named Absurd Marin. Its first project will be a new, as-yet-unannounced franchise (apparently, American Caper and A Better Paradise can be excluded).

The new branch is located in San Rafael, California. The headquarters consists of about 20 people, former employees of Ascendant Studios, whose founder, Bret Robbins, has taken the helm at Absurd Marin. A year ago, nearly half of Ascendant Studios’ staff was laid off a month after the release of their first game. Immortals of Aveum received average reviews but failed in sales.
