Although Elphaba’s journey reached its conclusion with the theatrical debut of Wicked: For Good, Cynthia Erivo’s momentum shows no signs of slowing. On December 2, 2025, the Emmy-, Grammy- and Tony-winning performer earned her first RIAA platinum album and her first platinum single.

The soundtrack to 2024’s Wicked — credited to Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and the film’s ensemble — was certified platinum after surpassing one million units in the United States. The soundtrack previously climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Soundtrack Albums chart, and it later received a nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The duet “Defying Gravity,” performed by Erivo and Grande, also reached platinum status for surpassing one million units. The rendition peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2026 Grammys. In addition to that hit, several other songs from the Wicked soundtrack entered the Hot 100: “What Is This Feeling?” (No. 62), “Dancing Through Life” (No. 86), “The Wizard and I” (No. 92) and “I’m Not That Girl” (No. 94). Altogether, Wicked secured four nominations at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Erivo has not publicly commented on the RIAA certifications. This year she also released her sophomore album, I Forgive You, in June; it peaked at No. 45 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and earned a 2026 Grammy nomination for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for the track “Be Okay.”

In November, the sequel’s soundtrack, Wicked: For Good, arrived — again credited to Erivo, Grande and the film’s cast — and mirrored the earlier success by reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 while topping Soundtrack Albums. From that release, three of Erivo’s songs entered the Hot 100: “No Good Deed” (No. 56), “As Long As You’re Mine” (No. 91) and the title track, which became the highest-charting Hot 100 single of her career at No. 43.
