Cyndi Lauper is exposing her spirit in the brand-new docudrama Let the Canary Sing, and in a clip shared solely with Billboard, the cherished symbol opens concerning the backstory behind a preferred verse in her 1983 traditional “Time After Time.”

“Time After Time” inevitably covered the Billboard Hot 100 for 2 weeks in 1984, noting her initial leader on the tally.The ballad, which Lauper co-wrote with Rob Hyman, got a Grammy election for tune of the year.

The feature-length Let the Canary Sing movie that debuted finally year’s Tribeca Festival in New York was guided by Emmy- winning documentarian Alison Ellwood (Laurel Canyon) and will certainly debut on Paramount+ on Tuesday (June 4). “Over the years, I’ve been asked to do a documentary about my life and work, but it never felt like the right time,” Lauper, 70, stated in a declaration concerning the movie. “Until now.
