Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update Leaked Ahead of Reveal

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners returned to Netflix this week with its second season. To mark the occasion, CD Projekt Red has prepared another sizable update for Cyberpunk 2077, one that should lure plenty of players back to Night City for another run. The patch hasn’t gone live yet, but its contents have already leaked.

CD Projekt Red rarely lets its games fade away quietly. The Witcher 3 arrived more than ten years ago, yet it continues to receive patches, a remastered edition, and fresh DLC. The studio has shown the same dedication to Cyberpunk 2077. Despite a turbulent debut in late 2020, years of sustained work have repaired the game, proven its worth, and steadily expanded its community.

The first season of Edgerunners followed David Martinez. Season 2 strikes out in an entirely new direction, centering on a completely different cast of characters. It debuted on Oct. 20, and a companion update for Cyberpunk 2077 follows close behind. Version 2.5, known as the Edgerunners 2 update, arrives on consoles and PC on Oct. 22. That’s two days after the anime’s Netflix launch, which leaves viewers just enough time to binge all 10 episodes.

CD Projekt is expected to reveal more about the update later today. Even so, according to Push Square, a content creator posted a video outlining what the patch contains before setting it to private. The takedown came too late: enough viewers had already watched it, and details quickly spread across the internet.

The feature list is strong enough to send thousands of players back into their saves, or into brand-new ones. Console owners will finally get mod support through mod.io, much like The Witcher 3 Remastered. The Cool skill tree gains a perk called “Double Trouble,” which enables dual-wielding for pistols and revolvers. A new in-game radio station will play music from Edgerunners. Cyberware gets a broader range of customization options, V unlocks additional hairstyles and clothing, and two new side quests give players fresh territory to explore.
