Clayface Tops Box Office Weekend, Giving Skydance Its Second Straight Win

Clayface opened at No. 1 at the box office. Early estimates put the lower-budget horror film’s weekend gross at $24.5 million. Skydance, the company created when Paramount and Warner Bros. merged, has now topped the box office for two straight weeks.

How did Clayface perform in its opening weekend?

Deadline reported the $24.5 million figure. It falls below the opening weekends of Superman and Supergirl, but it isn’t considered a flop. Clayface had a much smaller budget than most superhero cinematic universe films. It is also performing in line with expectations for a horror movie released around Halloween. The result shows that a superhero or supervillain film doesn’t have to be a box office blockbuster if its budget is set properly.

Audiences generally like the film. It has an A- CinemaScore and a 94% user average on Rotten Tomatoes. Polygon was less impressed with the third DCU movie. Our reviewer wrote that Clayface “tells an underwhelming story filled with uninteresting characters.”

The win adds to Skydance’s streak, following Street Fighter‘s opening weekend. Street Fighter didn’t hold second place this weekend. It dropped sharply to fourth.

Second place went to A24’s You Can See Everything, which earned more in its second weekend than in its first. It made $19.5 million. If that trend continues, Nathan Fielder’s unexpected Elizabeth Holmes documentary could become another Obsession-like box office surprise in 2026.

Next weekend will show how Clayface and You Can See Everything hold with audiences. Here is Deadline’s list of the top ten highest-grossing films of the weekend:

  1. Clayface – $24.5 million
  2. You Can See Everything – $19.5 million
  3. Wildwood – $11.6 million
  4. Street Fighter – $8.6 million
  5. Wicker – $5.75 million
  6. BTS World Tour Arirang – $4.5 million
  7. Other Mommy – $3.85 million
  8. Sense and Sensibility – $3.4 million
  9. Whalefall – $3.06 million
  10. Verity – $3.06 million
