During the New Game+ Showcase, Pearl Abyss shared fresh details regarding Crimson Desert, their highly anticipated open-world fantasy RPG.

According to Will Powers, Specialist in Marketing and Strategic Planning, the game’s map surpasses the scale of Red Dead Redemption 2. He further noted that the world of Pywel is at least double the size of the explorable territory found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The developers emphasized that sheer scale isn’t the only focus; Pywel is designed for high interactivity. Numerous features, such as the crafting and housing systems, remain under wraps. Even the previously teased Sky Isles, with their intricate puzzles, are still shrouded in mystery.

Powers also mentioned that players will encounter and battle dragons, though whether these beasts can be permanently slain remains unclear. Questions also linger about the Golden Star, a massive mechanical dragon showcased in earlier footage.

Crimson Desert is slated for release on March 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
