Counter-Strike Online Shooter to Shut Down After 12 Years, but Not the One You Think

The story of Counter-Strike Nexon is reaching its final chapter.

NEXON announced plans to shut down the MMOFPS Counter-Strike Nexon. This free-to-play title has lived on the Steam platform for over a decade.

Counter-Strike Nexon functions as a modified version of Counter-Strike 1.6. It blends classic maps and bomb-defusal gameplay with unique additions like zombie modes. Players also access an extensive arsenal and a variety of characters equipped with exclusive skills.

Official support for Counter-Strike Nexon ends in late September 2026.

You can add Counter-Strike Nexon to your Steam library through the following link. Steam trading cards for the game remain available on the marketplace. Although developers typically disable trading after a game closes, those who keep the title in their library may still be able to craft card badges using gems.
