Costco Pulls Xbox Consoles from Sale in the US and UK

The retailer will continue to offer products from Nintendo and PlayStation.

Major retailer Costco has officially confirmed it will stop selling Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in its stores and on its online platforms in the United States and the United Kingdom. In a statement provided to former IGN staffer Destin Legari, a Costco spokesperson said the chain does not intend to carry Xbox consoles going forward, calling it “a business decision”.

Costco may not be the only retailer scaling back Xbox sales. A user commenting on Legari’s post noted that EB Games also appears to be reducing its Xbox offerings. An EB Games Canada employee said the retailer is selling through its remaining console inventory online and does not plan to restock. On EB Games Canada’s website only the Xbox Series S is available for delivery or pickup, while the Series X can only be obtained at stores that still have stock. EB Games Australia and EB Games New Zealand have even removed the Xbox logo from their sites.
