Build A Rocket Boy has unveiled its roadmap for the expansion of MindsEye. Although the studio has yet to commit to a firm release schedule, they provided an insightful preview of the upcoming content slated for the title.
Contract Killings: Blacklisted
Players will soon step into the shoes of the lethal operative Julia Black to eliminate two high-profile targets under the direction of the Meridian organization. This narrative-driven experience will thrust users deep into a clandestine underworld, requiring them to sabotage illicit operations and unravel a web of espionage and betrayal. The mode, aptly titled “Blacklisted,” cleverly nods to the protagonist’s surname.
This content appears to be a revitalization of concepts originally intended for a planned Hitman collaboration. Following the dissolution of the partnership between BARB and IO Interactive, Build A Rocket Boy has taken full control of the project as both developer and publisher. It remains to be seen whether the narrative will address the alleged internal interference that previously hampered the studio’s progress.
Expanding Horizons: Multiplayer and Creative Tools
Beyond story missions, MindsEye is set to broaden its scope with several key feature additions:
- Competitive Racing: A new multiplayer racing mode is on the horizon, allowing players to test their skills against one another.
- Platform Parity for Creators: The robust Build ARCADIA editor—previously a PC exclusive—is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This empowers console users to design bespoke tracks and missions for both solo and group play.
- Cross-Platform Library: Console players will gain full access to the wealth of user-generated content created by the PC community.
The studio anticipates sharing further updates throughout the year and has promised to release comprehensive details as development milestones are met.
