Career progression remains entirely independent across these disciplines; for instance, Car Mode relies on reputation metrics rather than conventional experience points. Nevertheless, foundational elements of your profile stay unified. Your accumulated wealth and global map discovery persist universally, meaning any scenic routes uncovered during a leisurely car drive remain permanently revealed when you return to your semi-truck, and vice versa.

Partitioning the game into specialized modes also ensures that all relevant data for your active profession stays neatly organized. Your dedicated fleet, progression metrics, performance statistics, and mode-specific records are all conveniently housed in one centralized location.

Transitioning between these roles is remarkably intuitive. You can access alternative modes while stationary to manage administrative duties, though you cannot maintain more than one active contract simultaneously across different disciplines. The definitive transition into a new mode takes effect the moment you engage the Drive command.

Currently, the GPS navigation system remains linked to the vehicle category you last operated, meaning route adjustments for a newly chosen mode cannot be preemptively configured before departure. Once you hit the pavement, however, the appropriate navigational parameters and gameplay rules instantly activate. Looking ahead, we are actively developing refinements to make cross-mode navigation even more fluid in upcoming patches.

Whenever you execute a mode switch, you seamlessly resume your journey precisely where you last parked your truck, coach, or automobile.

The introduction of multi-disciplinary gameplay also directly influenced our recent overhaul of the fatigue mechanics. Fatigue Simulation is now split into two distinct variables: Rest State and Mandatory Breaks. Your Rest State measures your character’s overall exhaustion and carries over across all modes, whereas Mandatory Breaks enforce legally mandated downtime. Commercial trucks and passenger coaches are bound by strict legal rest regulations, while private automobiles are exempt.

Implementing these distinct modes marks a monumental milestone in expanding the horizons of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, all while maintaining a cohesive, interconnected universe.
