Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 skins revealed for four heroes

In December 2018, Blizzard previewed four Overwatch skins before Winter Wonderland opened on December 11. The PlayOverwatch posts introduced Snowboarder Zarya, Arctic Fox Lúcio, Sugar Plum Fairy Mercy and Biathlon Widowmaker. Zarya, Mercy and Widowmaker were explicitly presented as Legendary skins. The Lúcio post named the Arctic Fox design without stating a rarity.

The four pre-launch reveals

The reveals appeared on the official Overwatch account between December 5 and December 8. Each post paired the skin name with a short clip or image, giving players a direct look at the models before the event patch arrived. Snowboarder Zarya used winter sports gear, Sugar Plum Fairy Mercy drew on ballet costume, Biathlon Widowmaker wore cold-weather marksman gear and Arctic Fox Lúcio used a white-and-blue animal motif.

What Winter Wonderland 2018 included

Blizzard’s December 11 patch notes described Winter Wonderland 2018 as a three-week seasonal event. Winter Loot Boxes carried new seasonal items, while Yeti Hunter and Mei’s Snowball Offensive returned as playable winter brawls. Blizzard World also received snow, nighttime lighting and confectionery-themed decorations for the event.

The four social posts covered only part of the cosmetic lineup. Blizzard also named Krampus Junkrat and Figure Skater Symmetra among the new Legendary skins available during Winter Wonderland 2018.
