Charli XCX has revealed a preview of an original composition she wrote for Emerald Fennell’s forthcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights. The new track, titled “House,” arrived as a short teaser shared on Nov. 6, 2025, alongside a reflective note describing the song’s development and her collaborators.

In her post, Charli explains that Fennell first reached out around last Christmas, inviting her to contribute music to the film. Coming off the intense creative period behind her previous album Brat, Charli says she welcomed the chance to immerse herself in a wholly different aesthetic and atmosphere.

She describes being inspired by the world Fennell is crafting for the film — the bleak moors, the grit and the tenderness — and by a phrase she heard from Velvet Underground alum John Cale in a documentary: any song for the project should feel “elegant and brutal.” That idea kept returning to her as she worked on the score.

Moved by Cale’s influence, Charli reached out to him and the two ultimately collaborated for the project; she says he sent a poem that brought her to tears. In her message to fans she called the collaboration a profound privilege and said she’s been quietly eager to share the result.

According to Charli’s announcement, “House” will be released on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025 — several months before Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights is scheduled for theaters in February 2026. The short teaser pairs spare violin accents with a deep off-camera voice that asks, “Can I speak to you privately for a moment?” while the singer lies on her side in the clip.

Fennell’s adaptation — which stars Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff — is the latest screen retelling of Emily Brontë’s gothic classic. The film’s earlier teaser featured Charli’s song “Everything Is Romantic” from her Brat era, and “House” will mark her first new single since the Brat remix album was issued in October 2024.
