Charli XCX Explains Why She Quit Botox and Says She’ll “Probably” Get a Facelift

In a Vanity Fair cover story published October 14, 2025, Charli XCX candidly discussed her evolving feelings about cosmetic treatments. The British alt-pop artist—who has been splitting her time between music and acting—says she recently stopped receiving Botox after realizing the injections made her look less natural on camera.

Charli admitted she misses the treatment but noted practical reasons for quitting: during a few audition tapes the effect altered her brow movement in a way that read oddly on film, prompting her to pause. She compared the on-camera expression to a famously exaggerated look, underscoring how even subtle changes can translate differently on screen.

Still, she isn’t ruling out future procedures. Charli told Vanity Fair she often thinks about altering her appearance and said she “probably will get” a mid-facelift at some point. She described mentally cataloging the adjustments she could make—pulling, stretching and morphing features—while also reminding herself not to become consumed by that impulse.

This isn’t the first time Charli has spoken openly about cosmetic work. In January, she acknowledged using Botox and having fillers in the past, while also mentioning a newer treatment—polynucleotide injections—that she likened to deep vitamin treatments for the skin. She emphasized that people should research thoroughly, because what suits one person’s skin or face won’t necessarily suit another’s.

Beyond aesthetics, Charli has been broadening her creative horizons as an actress. After the breakout success of her 2024 album Brat, she starred in Prime Video’s Overcompensating and appeared in the films Erupcja and 100 Nights of Hero. She’s also developing a mock-documentary called The Moment, a fictionalized project inspired by her own concept in which she will play the lead. Charli described the film as a realistic, fictional exploration of the music industry—distinct from a tour or concert documentary.
