Chapter 1 Gameplay

Now available until January 31st at 2 AM ET, Season 1 of the OG mode replicates Fortnite’s original iterations, showcasing the classic loot set and the inaugural version of the map. Initially, Fortnite OG will cover the early Seasons of Chapter 1, albeit shorter than their original runs. At the start, Solo and Squads playlists are available in both Zero Build and traditional Battle Royale modes, with Duos expected to follow shortly. A Ranked mode has been officially announced by Epic Games.

 

Though absent in Chapter 1, numerous modern enhancements introduced post-2019 will be retained in this mode. Building mechanics align with Chapter 6 Battle Royale standards, complemented by updated motion features such as sprinting, sliding, mantling, breaking through doors, and healing while moving.

 

Epic Games has finely balanced Chapter 1’s raw elements with refined gameplay features to preserve its ‘OG’ essence. Reboot vans dot the Island, despite their inception in Season 8, and sniper rifles now feature glares — an addition from Chapter 4. The capability to double pump is reinstated, along with a maximum materials limit of 999.

 

Epic Games assures that meticulous attention has been paid to ensure that every tree, chest, vehicle, and object is precisely where players remember it. In Zero Build mode, they have integrated Ziplines and Ascenders to facilitate reaching elevated areas.
