Chappell Roan Launches Midwest Princess Fund for Trans Youth — Already Raised $400K

Pop artist Chappell Roan has announced the Midwest Princess Project, a new initiative dedicated to providing resources and support for transgender youth and LGBTQ+ communities. The program’s website is open for donations and information.

The announcement arrived via an Instagram post on Oct. 23, 2025, in which Roan introduced the project and explained its mission to fund organizations that directly serve young trans people and their families.

Roan said the Midwest Princess Project has already raised more than $400,000 during her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things pop-up shows. Ticket sales for that run contributed $1 per ticket to the fund, and Roan pledged that, aside from transaction fees and modest administrative costs, the bulk of proceeds will be directed to partner organizations in need.

The fund builds on Roan’s ongoing advocacy for queer and trans rights. She has previously taken visible stands in support of the community, including turning down an invitation associated with White House Pride Month events following her Gov Ball 2024 appearance — a decision she framed as part of a broader call for equality and protection for trans people.

Roan has also publicly reflected on the personal importance of the LGBTQ+ community in her life. In a 2023 essay for Billboard, she described how that community influenced her creativity and self-acceptance.
