Investigators suspect the tragedy may be linked to a shamanic ritual involving a mind-altering Amazonian botanical brew.
Polish prosecutors have officially reopened an inquiry into the enigmatic 2018 death of a Polish national in the Czech Republic. The 54-year-old woman’s body was discovered at a farm allegedly used for clandestine spiritual ceremonies involving ayahuasca, a potent psychedelic tea. The case has drawn significant attention as the investigation files cite prominent Polish entrepreneurs Michał Kiciński and Marcin Iwiński, the co-founders of CD Projekt.
The prosecution’s working theory suggests the fatality was connected to the consumption of an Amazonian concoction containing substances that are strictly prohibited in numerous European jurisdictions.
Evidence indicates that one of the farm’s co-owners was Michał Kiciński, a founding father of CD Projekt and the former head of CD Projekt RED, the studio renowned for The Witcher series. According to investigative reports, the property hosted shamanic rituals orchestrated by an individual known as “Badi” (Bartosz B.). Kiciński reportedly attended these ceremonies and maintained contact with the organizers, including both “Badi” and a self-styled shaman named Jarosław Kordysa.
The name of the second CD Projekt co-founder, Marcin Iwiński, also appears in the investigative materials. During the period in question, Iwiński purchased real estate in the neighboring Czech town of Nýdek, which investigators believe may have also served as a venue for these illicit gatherings.
Iwiński has stated to investigators that he merely allowed acquaintances to utilize his home during his absence and remained entirely unaware of any rituals taking place. He emphasized that he played no part in the organization of such events.
While the woman’s death occurred back in 2018, the initial probe failed to reach a definitive conclusion. Years later, Polish law enforcement received fresh intelligence, prompting them to revisit the cold case. Investigators are now working to reconstruct the events of that night to determine the extent of the property owners’ involvement with the ritual organizers.
