Cardi B Shuts Down Relationship Critics: “We Can Only Go Forward”
Seeking a peaceful conclusion to her holiday season, Cardi B took to social media to address the relentless public scrutiny surrounding her romance with NFL star Stefon Diggs. In a candid video shared to X on Monday, December 29, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper urged her followers to cease the ongoing criticism regarding her personal choices and Diggs’ recent family revelations.
Recording from the comfort of her bed, Cardi adopted a blunt yet lighthearted tone. “Y’all need to calm down,” she began, noting that she had been “dragged” across social platforms for several days. “I can’t change s–t. I can’t go back in time. I already had a baby… What y’all want me to do? We can only go forward now.”
The Grammy-winning artist emphasized that she is entering a grueling professional phase. Starting in January, she will begin intensive 12-hour rehearsals for her upcoming tour—an endeavor that will necessitate significant time away from her home and children. Cardi voiced her need for a “support system” rather than digital hostility as she prepares to hit the road.
The online discourse reached a fever pitch after Diggs shared Christmas photos featuring two different infants, seemingly lending credence to reports that he fathered children with two other women roughly around the same time he and Cardi welcomed their son in November. Despite the headlines, Cardi spent her holiday celebrating with her newborn and her three children from her previous relationship with Offset: Kulture, Wave, and Blossom.
Diggs fueled the fire of public interest by commenting on Cardi’s festive family photos, playfully telling her not to “squeeze” their son too tight. While critics continue to debate the optics of their relationship, Cardi appears undeterred. She was recently spotted cheering on Diggs from the sidelines as the New England Patriots secured a dominant 42-10 victory over the New York Jets.
Fans can expect to see much more of the rapper this spring when she launches the Little Miss Drama Tour. The tour follows the massive success of her latest album, Am I the Drama?, which captured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 upon its October release.
