BTS continues to solidify their status as global titans, marking another monumental achievement in their storied Spotify journey.
On Friday, July 17, the streaming giant officially confirmed that the music video for the group’s latest track, “NORMAL,” has shattered the record for the most-streamed K-pop music video in a single day, cementing its place in platform history.
Spotify shared the news across their official social media channels, highlighting the massive engagement surrounding the release. The visual for “NORMAL,” which premiered Friday morning, remains a Spotify-exclusive experience for its initial 48-hour debut window.
Directed by the visionary Ukrainian filmmaker Tanu Muino, the music video trades high-octane spectacle for quiet intimacy. Set against a wintry backdrop, the aesthetic invites viewers into a sprawling, ornate estate where Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are captured in candid, relaxed moments, offering fans a rare glimpse of the septet simply enjoying one another’s company.
To experience the video, Premium subscribers using supported TV, desktop, or mobile applications can simply search for “NORMAL” by BTS, start the audio, and toggle the “Switch to video” setting.
“NORMAL” is a standout feature from the group’s fifth studio album, ARIRANG. It follows the successful rollout of the album’s lead single, “SWIM.” Broad radio promotion for the new track is scheduled to kick off via Interscope/Capitol Records during the week of July 27.
This success follows an explosive spring for the group: “SWIM” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 this April, while their ARIRANG album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200—the seventh time the band has reached the pinnacle of both charts. Furthermore, since its March 20 release, ARIRANG has maintained its reign as the most-streamed K-pop album in the history of Spotify.
The momentum shows no sign of slowing as the BTS ARIRANG world tour proceeds. After a two-night engagement at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, the group will head to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19 to co-headline the historic FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, sharing the stage with icons Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber.
