Britney Spears Says Sarah Jessica Parker’s ‘Hocus Pocus’ Hair Inspired Her Pink ‘Do

Britney Spears revealed her spellbinding new pink hair color and its bewitching inspiration: Sarah Jessica Parker‘s character from Hocus Pocus.

Spears has been resurrecting styles from the early aughts these days, from her Instagram throwback compilation video of her 2000s outfits as inspired by Reese Witherspoon to her subtly pink locks as inspired by Parker’s character Sarah Sanderson in the 1993 Halloween classic.

“It’s the first time I’ve colored all of my hair a bright color so f— it. … Pink is hot if I do say so myself,” Spears captioned the feisty series of pink hair-flipping pictures, where she’s also rocking a leopard bodysuit. “Oh and not only did I copy @reesewitherspoon the other day with my throwback looks, but now I’m copying @sarahjessicaparker’s hair tease from Hocus Pocus!!!!”

The 39-year-old pop superstar also recalled Parker’s standout red lipstick at the time, which the then-11-year-old Spears wasn’t allowed to wear because of her mother’s rules. She might not be twinning with the pop of color Parker was sporting on her lip, but the “Gimme More” singer noted she feels like Bella Thorne‘s twin with her new ‘do, much to the fellow Disney alum’s delight. “@britneyspears says she’s your twin w pink hair !!!” Thorne wrote over a screenshot of Spears’ caption on her IG Story, adding, “Peace out life made” with a selfie of her red hair on the next slide.

“I was freaking 11 when that movie came out and I swear she had it right before Sex and the City … it’s all about the hair and the heels, people!!!!” Spears continued. “I wanted to wear red lipstick after seeing that movie but my mom wouldn’t let me so I did lipgloss instead!!!! Sh– … I should have worn red lipstick!!!! PS why do I feel like I’m @bellathorne’s twin with pink hair?!?!?!”

Following the Feb. 5 release of the Framing Britney Spears documentary, Parker joined countless other A-listers in the #FreeBritney movement, tweeting, “#FreeBritney” and “#FramingBritneySpears.” Spears also named Parker as one of the “women that have truly inspired my life,” alongside her own little sister Jamie Lynn Spears, Miley and Noah Cyrus, Sharon Stone, Natalie Portman and Tawny Janae.
