«Bridget Jones’s Diary» to be re-released in theaters
The beloved romantic comedy Bridget Jones’s Diary is set to return to Russian cinemas this winter, as announced by the distributor A-One.
The theatrical re-release will celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary and feature a stunning 4K restoration. An exact premiere date will be shared in the near future.
Directed as an adaptation of Helen Fielding’s iconic novel, the 2001 hit features stellar performances by Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Hugh Grant. The story follows 30-year-old Bridget, a publishing employee navigating the anxieties of her weight and love life while striving to find true self-acceptance.
The franchise has expanded to four films, with the latest installment, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, arriving in 2025. To date, the series has grossed a collective $897 million at the global box office.
