Bradley Cooper to Star in New G.I. Joe Movie
Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper has officially been tapped to star in the upcoming G.I. Joe feature. The project will be helmed by comedian Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones), who is set to both write and direct.
The G.I. Joe franchise is rooted in the iconic Hasbro toy line and its accompanying comic book series. The cinematic journey began in 2009 with Channing Tatum, followed by a 2013 sequel starring Dwayne Johnson. In 2021, Paramount expanded the universe further with the spin-off Snake Eyes. Collectively, the film series has grossed $712 million worldwide.
Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, which features Cooper stepping into the role of Duke, a quintessential operative of the elite G.I. Joe team. Cooper is currently directing an Ocean’s Eleven prequel starring Margot Robbie.
