BLACKPINK’s Lisa Enjoys Cute Moments With Viral Monkey Punch in Japan

LISA, the global sensation and member of BLACKPINK, recently carved out some time from her demanding itinerary to visit a very special internet celebrity: Punch the monkey.
On Saturday, March 7, the 28-year-old superstar delighted her followers by posting heartwarming snapshots from her excursion to the Ichikawa City Zoo. Located in Chiba Prefecture, just a short distance from Tokyo, the zoo has become a must-visit spot thanks to its famous primate resident.
Punch, a young macaque, captured the world’s heart after stories emerged of him being marginalized by other apes in his social group. To help him cope, caretakers provided him with a large, plush orangutan toy, which he now carries with him everywhere as a source of security and comfort.
Showing her support for the viral primate, Lisa brought her own stuffed companion to the enclosure. In a series of photos shared to her Instagram Stories, the “Money” singer appeared radiant and casual, sporting a gray oversized hoodie, classic denim, and a cozy knit beanie. Fans were treated to images of a smiling Lisa holding up her plush toy for Punch to see, as well as candid shots of the macaque lounging with his inseparable stuffed friend.
This brief Japanese getaway follows an exceptionally productive season for the performer. Lisa has officially pivoted back to the silver screen, having recently commenced filming for her upcoming movie, Tygo, on location in South Korea.
On the musical front, BLACKPINK continues to dominate the cultural zeitgeist. The group recently unveiled their latest EP, DEADLINE, their first collective project since the monumental success of 2022’s Born Pink. The five-track collection features the standout single “Jump”—which previously peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100—alongside fresh tracks like “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.”
The release follows a period of immense solo growth for the quartet. While the group reunited for a massive stadium circuit last year, each member has also focused on their individual artistry. LISA, ROSÉ, and JENNIE have each dropped their respective solo debuts—Alter Ego, Rosie, and Ruby—while JISOO captivated audiences with her EP, Amortage.
