BLACKPINK to Return Soon With 3rd Mini Album

The global K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK has finally confirmed their return. On Wednesday, January 14, the group thrilled their fanbase by announcing that their upcoming project is slated for a worldwide release on February 27.

Titled Deadline, the announcement was shared via the quartet’s official social media channels. While the group has kept specific track details under wraps, they did confirm that the release will be a mini-album. Interestingly, the title mirrors their 2025 world tour, which saw its grand opening at the Goyang Sports Complex in South Korea on July 5 and 6. These performances marked the first time Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa shared the stage as a full unit since 2023.

The announcement follows a significant period where each member concentrated on individual pursuits. This hiatus allowed the stars to explore diverse creative avenues: Jennie appeared in HBO’s The Idol, while Lisa joined the cast for the third season of The White Lotus. In addition to acting, the members have been active with various solo musical releases.

Leading up to their 2025 tour, the group reunited in the studio to record the high-octane single “Jump,” which arrived on July 11. The track proved their enduring popularity, debuting at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and maintaining a presence on the charts for ten consecutive weeks.

In a recent cover story, Jennie opened up about the group’s evolution during their time apart, expressing a deep sense of nostalgia for her bandmates. She teased that this new era would showcase a more mature and formidable side of the group. “I want to say it’s going to be the most powerful version of ourselves that anyone has seen,” she remarked.
