BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” Hits Massive YouTube Milestone

It appears the world has a massive sweet tooth. The vibrant music video for the 2020 collaboration “Ice Cream” by BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez has officially surpassed one billion views on YouTube. This achievement marks the eighth time the K-pop powerhouses have reached this impressive plateau and the fourth for Gomez.
Directed with a playful, retro-inspired aesthetic, the visual features BLACKPINK members LISA, JENNIE, JISOO, and ROSÉ alongside Gomez in a candy-colored dreamscape. The video is a whirlwind of high-fashion looks and whimsical settings, ranging from giant inflatable playgrounds to a charming ice cream parlor, perfectly capturing the song’s lighthearted and sugary essence.
“Ice Cream” served as a standout second single from BLACKPINK’s debut studio project, The Album. During its chart run, the track secured a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, peaking at No. 13, and maintained a presence on the Billboard Global 200 for 14 weeks, climbing as high as No. 8. The Album itself was a commercial triumph, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Since their breakout in 2016 with Square One, BLACKPINK has cemented their status as global icons. With 11 entries on the Hot 100 and a chart-topping second studio album, Born Pink, the quartet continues to break barriers. Furthermore, each member has successfully ventured into solo projects, all finding individual success on the Hot 100.
For Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream” joins an elite list of her billion-view hits, including “Come & Get It,” “Calm Down” with Rema, and her collaboration with Charlie Puth, “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”
