Big Little Lies Season 3 to start filming this fall

David E. Kelley, the creative force behind the acclaimed series Big Little Lies, has officially revealed the production timeline for the show’s highly anticipated third season.

According to Kelley, principal photography is slated to begin this autumn.

“Everything is just starting to fall into place, but it is definitely moving forward. I’m incredibly excited. With such a phenomenal cast, there is a wealth of potential for another compelling narrative, and it looks like we will be back on set this fall,”

Kelley shared during a conversation with USA Today. The hit HBO drama first premiered in 2017, with its second installment following in 2019. Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel, the story is set in the coastal enclave of Monterey, where a group of mothers finds themselves at the center of a chilling murder investigation.

The series features a powerhouse ensemble including Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgård, and Meryl Streep. The first two seasons were helmed by director Jean-Marc Vallée, who tragically passed away in 2021.
