The legendary showman Barry Manilow is triumphantly returning to the spotlight. Following a successful surgical procedure, the iconic singer-songwriter has unveiled half a dozen fresh performance dates for his 2026 itinerary. The update, shared via social media on Tuesday (Jan. 13), comes as a welcome relief to fans after the Grammy winner disclosed just before Christmas that he had been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer.
“Barry is feeling great… so great that he’s decided to add six additional concerts to his existing March schedule,” the announcement on Instagram shared. An official press statement further clarified that the medical intervention was a success, noting that his physicians are incredibly optimistic about his ongoing recovery.
Final Performances and New Material
The newly scheduled appearances—all set for major arenas in early March—will take Manilow to Charlotte, N.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Baltimore; Cincinnati; Nashville; and Lexington, Ky. According to the release, these dates will serve as his valedictory performances in these specific cities. However, the news isn’t just about farewells; the singer also teased that he plans to release brand-new music later this year.
Following his diagnosis in December, Manilow—who recently debuted the track “Once Before I Go”—was forced to put his January schedule on hiatus. His official return to the stage is now slated for Feb. 27 at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Fla. The tour is expected to run through late April, concluding on the 29th at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Ga.
A Fortunate Discovery
Manilow’s health journey began unexpectedly while he was being treated for bronchitis. A precautionary MRI ordered by his physician revealed a cancerous lesion on his left lung. Fortunately, the early detection meant the cancer had not metastasized. At the time of his initial announcement, the “Copacabana” singer maintained his trademark wit, stating that his recovery plan involved “No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”
