Bandai Namco’s “Monopoly,” praised by players, removed from Steam

Billion Road will soon be removed from distribution on Valve’s platform.

Players were recently reminded about the Billion Road project. It is scheduled to be pulled from sale on Steam on September 30.

Billion Road is a Monopoly-style board game developed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment. The core objective is to travel around Japan and out-earn your rivals:

“You generate income by landing on property spaces that offer investment opportunities — for example, a sushi restaurant in Ginza or an anime merchandise shop in Akihabara. After you invest, you’ll need to wait until March for those investments to pay off. In the meantime, stay vigilant: wandering monsters might shower you with treasure… or derail your strategy!”

The announcement did not specify the reason for removing Billion Road. It’s assumed the decision could be linked to expired licensing agreements.
