The ball ultimately bounced off his shoulder before dropping to the aisle, but the video cuts to him beaming while holding the game-used ball — a small but gleeful memento from the evening.

The Yankees won the game 9–6, but for some fans the real highlight was Benito’s catch. The moment arrives about four months before Bad Bunny is scheduled to headline the Super Bowl halftime show on February 8, 2026, in Santa Clara, California.

The selection of a primarily Spanish-language artist for the halftime show has drawn criticism from certain political figures. Former President Donald Trump said, “I never heard of him,” adding that he didn’t understand the decision and blamed the promoter. House Speaker Mike Johnson labeled the pick a “terrible decision” and suggested Lee Greenwood as an alternative.
